ULIK'OPUS ll

HAPPY PROGRAMME
ULIK and LE SNOB

The idea of Opus II of Ulik’s Glisssssssssendo was born around the time we were creating the first fixed show in 2007. In parallel with a show performed by night in a defined space, we offer a complementary version that can be played both day and night in an open space.

This parade can be performed in any place where the surface is suitable for the machines on which we move. Since the beginning of our work in 2006, we have noticed that a space designed for disabled persons in wheelchairs is especially suitable for our movements.

Ulik’s Opus II is a 30 to 45 minute long parade during which 8 characters, directed by a ballet mistress, progress on a “Happy programme” made up with remarkable songs of the seventies. Each one offers a dedicated choreography related to the music.

Ulik’s career started with the successful show “the kiss of the muse”, that he played all around Europe with his pianist partner Donato Deliano. In 1999, he began his first solo interventions with “Mécanocomik”. Riding his “Tubamobil”, he flew to Japan, Canada, and the whole of Europe. This show, constantly evolving since it’s creation, has won him many prizes : Gergalo (Italy), Gauklerpreis (Germany), originality prize at the Daigogei World Cip (Japan), and took part in prestigious festivals : Roskilde Rock Festival (Danemark), Sheswigholstein Music Festival, Terschelling (Netherlands), Tollwood (Germany), Les Eurockéennes de Belfort (France), Aurillac festival (France)… When Ulik isn’t on the road for a show, he turns into a genius inventor. It is how one day he invented the Hands Free, but he also worked on adapting propelled shoes invented by the Russian army for their infantry’s equipment, and the way he dreams of a more powerful reactor that the one he uses in “mecanocomik” that would make him able to fly away for real… ULIKlik’s website
